FAQ from people interested in volunteering

What Happens During Training Time?

During training, you will receive teaching and ministry for yourself personally. This is an ‘input time.’ You will also get to know and build relationships with the rest of the volunteer team. You will find out what role you will be doing at the Event and receive training for this role. You may also get an opportunity to try some of the adventure activities.

Where will I be staying?

You will stay onsite at Tui Ridge adventure park. Generally, our volunteers have the options to go in the Marae style accommodation, or the dormitory bunk rooms. You are welcome to bring your own tent to stay in if you would prefer the quietness of having your own space. There are also a limited number of private cabins off the dormitories that are prioritized for older couples who are volunteering but are not guaranteed. We also can hire a few caravans that sit at powered sites for the Event. This costs $800 for the 9 days and has to be booked in advanced - please let us know if you would like one.

What days and times do I need to be there if I want to Volunteer?

You will need to be onsite from 7.30pm the evening of the 5th of January through to the evening of the of the 13th January. The first 3 days are Training, then the next 6 days are the Event Days. The last evening is a Celebration night for the volunteer crew, an opportunity for you to relax and have fun together. You do not need to leave until the morning of the 14th of January.
